This session will review the basics of communication.

JUNE / MAYDAY Situations, Initial RIT and Self-Rescue, Part 1

This session will be a classroom presentation of MAYDAY situations followed by practicing radio transmissions based on various scenarios.  The goal of this session is to improve the members' knowledge of MAYDAY and to practice their radio skills in a "friendly", low-stress environment.  It is also designed to give different members the opportunity to act as IC and practice managing a MAYDAY situation.  This is part 1 of a 2-part training session.  Next month will be all practical including the use of all PPE (with SCBA).  Each member is encouraged to review MAYDAY policy/guidelines and procedures prior to the class.  It is expected all interior firefighters will participate in the practical portion.
